Mishel Shaji was all of 18 years old, and committed to becoming a Chartered Accountant. On March 6, however that dream ended in tragedy, when Mishel was found dead in the backwaters near Kochi Wharf. Her mysterious death has raised a storm, as her family refuse to believe the police version of her death being suicide.
Mishel, belonging to Piravom, Kerala was staying at Kacheripady to pursue the chartered accountancy course. She had left the hostel on Sunday(05/03/2017) evening after informing the authorities she was going to Kaloor Church. However, she went off the grid after that. Her relatives had lodged a missing case with the Ernakulam Central police station. She was found dead near the Ernakulam wharf at 8.45 pm on Monday. Preliminary probe ruled out foul play.However, the CCTV recordings of nearby shops shows footages of a man following her and Mishel’s friends said that she had told them earlier about some men disturbing her on the way.Police have not given enough consideration for the case. This will be written off as a suicide if nobody raise supporting voice for Mishel’s family.
